I am a former professional ballet dancer having worked all over the UK and Australia with companies such as the English National Ballet and Scottish ballet.
After leaving the ballet my passion for movement and exercise remained and my desire to understand more of the latter and help others with this knowledge is what led me to enter into the fitness industry. I started working in a big commercial gym doing one to one personal training working mostly with weight management clients and teaching group classes such as spin, body balance, ballet, body pump and hula. I absolutely loved helping people achieve their fitness goals and the sense of joy and job satisfaction had me hooked!
In 2007 I took the leap and started up my own personal training service and have worked with an array of clients over the past 10 years, it is through this contact with clients and my own experience of performance that I came to understand the importance of psychology and behaviour/lifestyle modification in goal orientated exercise whether it is for fitness competitions, sports, body transformation or general wellbeing. I decided to go to university and in 2012 I gained an Honours degree in Psychology and then a Sports and Exercise Nutrition and Coaching diploma. I have since been incorporating this knowledge into my training services and have found this to be extremely useful with my current clients and in return they are achieving sustainable results.
Like everyone at some stage who trains I hit a bit of a rut last year and decided to set myself the goal to take part in a UKBFF (United Kingdom Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation) show, I entered the bikini/fitness category. It was a brilliant experience and the journey was mentally and physically demanding however like most experiences in life i learnt a lot along the way about myself, my training and most of all my attitude towards nutrition and what really makes me tick in order to achieve. I hired a coach to help me prepare and found being the client for once a really insightful experience.
I love to lift and especially enjoy Olympic lifting. I am currently studying for my strength and conditioning accreditation with the UKSCA and believe that by combining both a strong body with a strong mind you will achieve the best results!
