Protein Banana and Hazelnut Bread

There has been an abundance of articles and documentaries of late discussing the findings of why we should not consume sugar and demonstrating how highly addictive a substance it is. So, if like me you would like to enjoy a sweet treat without all the added sugar and rubbish that we get conned into consuming please read. There are actually lots of healthy alternatives out there that taste great and this recipe is by far one of my favourites. Seeing as traditional banana bread is generally full of white flour, sugar and butter this delicious hazelnut banana bread is a tasty alternative. You should get around 10 servings per bread tin and each slice contains less than 100 calories! Yummy.

All you need are:

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • ½ cup of unflavoured hemp protein powder or banana or vanilla protein powder of your choice
  • ½ cup of liquid eggs
  • 1 cup of coconut or almond milk
  • 4 tablespoons of coconut flour
  • 6 medjool dates
  • 1 cup of hazelnuts
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
  • ½ teaspoon of baking powder

  • Chop up the dates
  • Blend all the ingredients together
  • Grease a baking tin with raw coconut oil
  • Then pour all the mix into a bread tin
  • Bake for 45-60mins at 180 C
  • Good way to check the bread is ready is to insert a knife and it should come out clean
