The Worst Kept Secrets To A Diet On A Budget

Guest Post

So you’ve made the lifestyle changes to engage in a varied workout plan each week. Now here’s the really important bit, your diet. The diet is also the hardest part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle but we have put together some tips that won’t cost you an arm and a leg.

So you are ready to hit the supermarket and start shopping healthy. Before you head out we recommend you make a List before arriving at the supermarket. Know what you are going to buy and stick to it! Supermarkets can be wonderful worlds of consumerism, they are designed to make you buy things that you don’t really need and of course there are treats at every turn. You’ll need to focus your diet and food buying as you would your workout plan and you will be one step closer to achieving your goals. It is quite straight forward but at the same time it can be quite daunting, here are our top 10 tips for healthy eating on a shoestring.

Natural Hydration

Hydration - Fitness FanWater is your number one element to a total cleanse. Try replacing fizzy drinks, juices, squashes with water, It’s great for your system and with your workout schedule it’s important that you stay hydrated.

Bottled water is available for under 20p for 2 litres in supermarkets, and tap water is even cheaper. It’s important to remember bottled water is not necessarily cleaner or better tasting, Water filters are readily available at a cheap price as an option.

Fabulous Fibre

It is key to our diet for nutrients and it helps keep you fuller for longer. Fibre is a slow release energy source, so eat it in the morning and keep your energy flowing throughout the day. Our highlighted fibre source of the year is Black beans, packed full of fibre, they can be bought in cans, which have a longer life but for optimum nutritional value go for fresh or dried beans to avoid excess sodium and salts. The bonus of black beans is their large protein content, 9g per 1/4 cup serving!

Eggcellent

Eggs are a staple for our diet here at HFA, they are a great protein muscle building fuel. They are very versatile you can cook them in a number of ways, keep them exciting and serve them with almost anything.

Egg white is pure protein with tons of vitamins  the bonus here is they are quick to cook and cheap to buy. Remember your new eating plan will not only help you get lean but also lower the risk of disease, increase your productivity & get stronger for longer.  Eating the right stuff will be the single most important part of your healthy living and you will feel and notice the differences almost  instantly.
